Dear Miss Blue,

Do the Linguini nieces perform Carmen in French or do they favor Italian?  The tambourine and scarves are impressive and I am sure Melba is thinking about Fanny and voice lessons at the nearby Conservatory.  And so the monkey ran away with the pop beads; what a scamp and very monkey-like of course. Fanny's bookshelf of Nancy Drew stories might be of help; I thought of The Hidden Staircase story; a clue for Fanny is somewhere on one of those pages.

I hope Marcella, Lydia and Giuseppina invite Fanny to join them in song - close harmony in an all-girl quartet. Fanny, I know, would love to sing with Linguini's nieces: Fanny might be the tenor voice, and Marcella the lead voice, with Lydia baritone and Giuseppina, the almighty bass! Just like that! Well, back to Melba's pop beads, I hope that you will send me word that Fanny has tracked down the hiding place and all things are now once more as they were in the first place when this letter began.

Waiting to know all,
Love from Pearl

Dear Pearl,
Linguini's nieces are here with us for a week and they are not at all continental!  Lydia, Marcella, and Giuseppina.  They sleep with their pet monkey which horrifies Louise.  But they can sing old Italian love songs with harmony so close you can't tell whose throat it's coming from.  And they're extremely inventive with scarves.  Melba gave them all of her pop beads to play with but the monkey ran away with the whole pile. Fannie has some plans for recovering them.  She is not saying what they are but she has pored over her Nancy Drew books for hours for clues about solving mysteries.

I Remain As Always,
Your Devoted Miss Blue
